About EU.eqi.org I am creating this new site specifically for Europe. In my opinion, the concept of emotional intelligence (EI) has become too "American". By this I mean it has been come too commercial and too closely connected with American values and beliefs. I was born in the United States and lived there for many years, so I am very familiar with the culture. On the original eqi.org site I have posted many articles criticizing various people in the United States and many of the practices and politics there. What I hope to do with this new site is concentrate instead on a different definition of EI -- one that, for example, is more culturally independent and healthier for humanity. I feel encouraged by many things I see happening in Europe and I would like to be a part of it. I have travelled around the world and I believe Europe offers the best example of how we can live in peace. I believe it also offers the best quality of life, with the best balance. I will explain more of this in the future. Right now I just want to introduce the site and ask for offers to help me with this venture. If you would like to help in any way, to work together or for me to come speak to your professional group, your students, your classes or your community, please let me know.
